Rotherham United are close to signing Tom Cahill, a twenty year old striker from Unibond League side, Matlock Town.

Millers manager, Mark Robins, has watched him on a couple of occassions, according to The Star, and he was invited to play in the Reserves last game of the season against Scunthorpe. The Millers won four-nil and Cahill had a helping hand in two of the goals.

Cahill has been described as strong, enthusiastic, aggressive and gives one hundred per cent and is said to be eager to play at Millmoor.

Before playing for Matlock he was playing for Sheffield University, where he was studying law.

It seems there are just a few things that need tying up before Cahill dons the red and white of Rotherham United.
