Rotherham United have been drawn against Premier League side Everton in the third round of the FA Cup which is the first time the pair have been against each other in this competition.

The Millers were last in the third round of the FA Cup last season after beating non-league sides Maidenhead, away, three-one – goals from Michael Ihiekwe, Freddie Ladapo and Matt Crooks after the hosts had taken a twenty-five minute lead then had a player sent-off and a seven goal thriller away at Solihull Moors which saw the hosts take a three-nil lead before goals from Freddie Ladapo, Michael Ihiekwe and Michael Smith (two) got the Millers a tie against Hull City at the New York Stadium. Former Miller Tom Eaves opened the scoring for the Tigers on sixteen minutes with Michael Smith equalising four minutes later. Despite going down to ten men on twenty-four minutes when Adam Thompson saw red, Kyle Vassell gave Rotherham the lead going into half-time but two more goals from Eaves saw Hull go into the fourth round.

Rotherham last played at Goodison Park in the EFL Cup in August 2018. Gylfi Sigurdsson opened the scoring for the Toffees on twenty-eight minutes with Dominic Calvert-Lewin doubling the lead just after the hour mark. Will Vaulks made it two-one with four minutes to go but Calvert-Lewin made it three-one a minute later

The games will take place the weekend of 9th January 2021.
