The Millers make the long journey to Dagenham tomorrow to visit the team that has perhaps the longest named ground in the football league!
Having put Southampton out of the Carling Cup mid-week, Mark Robins’ men will be hoping to have reached the first of their milestones at quarter-to-five tomorrow evening – with a win they can get to zero points. If that happens you’ll be able to hear the travelling fans all the way back in South Yorkshire!
But it’s a big ‘if’ as the Daggers are going well at the moment. Lying fifth in the league they have scored seventeen goals which is more than any other team so far this season, though, of course, they have to get through our defence and then Andy Warrington tomorrow!
Mark Robins – After the win on Tuesday night, the Millers manager has told his team they have to get their feet back on the ground for this game. ‘Dagenham aren’t a bad side and have some strong, powerful, athletic players.’
Dagenham & Redbridge Team News:
John Still has just signed Matt Ritchie on loan from Portsmouth and he could go straight into the side
Player to watch: SAM SAUNDERS
Midfielder who has five goals already this season and is fast down the right wing
Rotherham United Team News:
It is possible that Mark Robins will start with the same line-up that beat Southampton on Tuesday. It’s doubtful that Mark Lynch (shoulder) will be fit to play so Dale Tonge is odds on to keep his place
Player to watch: NICK FENTON
Not only can he defend, he can score as well! (though don’t tell Drewe Broughton!)
DJ Phillips from Sussex
The Millers are at home next Saturday, 4 October when the visitors will be Grimsby Town. Kick-off is 3pm
