Rotherham United have recalled Joshua Kayode from his loan spell at Chesterfield.

The seventeen year old joined the Spirites in September and has made three appearances for them in the National League all off the bench.

Midfielder Joshua came through the Millers Academy and signed his first professional contract in November last year, a deal which keeps him at the New York Stadium until the summer of 2020.

Known throughout the club as JJ, he played twice for Rotherham last season both games in the Checkatrade Trophy.

He played in yesterday’s Reserve win over Notts County and obviously impressed enough for Paul Warne to fetch him back, probably in view for a bench position on Saturday.

Chesterfield Manager, Martin Allen, told their Official Site that the midfielder was one he ‘certainly wanted to keep’ while also saying he understands why Rotherham have recalled him.

Welcome back to the New York Stadium, JJ!
