Rotherham United have had two young players called up to the Northern Ireland Under 19’s squad for two friendly games against Slovakia which take place early next month.

Forward Reece McGinley signed his first professional contract with the Millers in April and is a regular in the Millers second string while having had a loan spell last season with Frickley Athletic of the Evo Stik South.

Tyrone Lewthwaite, who also plays up front, is in his second year in Rotherham’s Academy and scored twice in their recent four-nil win over Lincoln City.

The pair were also called up for this squad in September last year.

It’s always good to see the youngsters getting called up for their country and it can only be good for Rotherham United as a whole – proves that there are teams out there watching us.

All at Vital Rotherham send their congratulations to the pair.  Good Luck to you both.
