Rotherham United are being linked with Australian midfielder Jordan Lyden.

Born in Perth the Lyden came through the Youth ranks at Villa Park and got called up to the senior side in December 2015 making his debut the following month in the FA Cup. His first league game came on Valentine’s Day 2016 when he came off the bench against Liverpool making his first Premier League start in the April against Bournemouth.

Injuries curtailed his progress with Villa and in October last year he went out on loan to League Two side Oldham Athletic making fourteen appearances before again an injury cut his season short.

The Millers are thought to be one of three clubs after the twenty-three year old with the The 72 saying that Southend United and Tranmere Rovers are also linked with him.

It seems that this young man is an attacking midfielder which, who I don’t think would be a bad acquisition for the Millers – as long as he is injury free.

I suppose we will see that when we see who is actually leaving. With today’s signing that’s a midfielder and a striker in. We know we need a ‘keeper and at least two wingers.
