Rotherham United have added to the squad by fetching in defender Trevor Clarke from Shamrock Rovers, signing on for three years – subject to international clearance

The twenty-one year old is known as a left-back but has also had spells as a left-sided midfielder and a couple of rare appearances at centre-back and can often be seen running down the wing while not being intimidated by the opposition defenders. In the past he has been linked with the likes of Derby County and Sheffield United.

Trevor came through the Academy at Middlesbrough before moving to the League of Ireland Premier Division with Rovers in 2015 and has twice won their Young Player of the Year.

Clarke has played just under one hundred times for the Hoops, scoring five times and has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under 16, Under 17 and Under 19 levels.

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Trevor to the New York Stadium
