Rotherham United have been drawn away against Chesterfield in the next round of the Vertu Trophy which will be the fourth time the pair have met in this competition.

With wins over Mansfield Town, a Newcastle U21 side and Bradford City seeing them top Group H taking them to a knock-out game at home to Tranmere Rovers where a Jonson Clarke-Harris penalty and goals from Zak Jules and Hakeem Odoffin gave Rotherham a three-two win.

Chesterfield topped Group G getting a win on penalties over a Manchester City U21 side plus wins over Lincoln City and Grimsby Town they went on to beat Wigan Athletic three-two at home with goals from Armando Dobra, James Berry-McNally (a penalty) and Dilan Markanday.

The game will take place the week commencing 13th January 2025 at the SMH Group Stadium.
