Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne says he would like to see all the loan players who finished the season with the Millers still there in August.
‘I thought Richie Towell was our best player in fairness at Wembley and I’d like to keep him,’ the Millers Boss told Radio Sheffield.
‘I think Marek (Rodak) is excellent and we are speaking to Fulham.
‘The hardest one for us to try and keep is Josh (Emmanuel) who is a great full-back going forward. But I can see Hursty (Paul Hurst) taking the Ipswich job and I think he’ll want to keep him, as I would.
‘Josh, Marek and Richie Towell have dedicated their waking hours to this club and you can’t ask for better than that.
‘But these players don’t belong to us although they all want to stay and rightly so as they’ve had a good season. We need to speak to their clubs but we will definitely try to keep them.’
I’d love to keep all three of these players. After a bit of a shaky start Rodak has become one of the best ‘keepers I’ve ever seen in a Rotherham team and has saved us on more than one occasion. Towell’s work ethic is excellent and his fitness levels are second-to-none. And I think Emmanuel has grown in stature since he’s been at the New York Stadium. His confidence has got bigger and better in every game. But I do think Hursty will get the Ipswich job and will want Josh to be in his team.
