Millers Boss ‘Pretty Pleased’ With Draw At Sunderland

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne said that although his team didn’t start great against Sunderland on Tuesday night he was pretty pleased with the performance.

Pretty pleased – well, I was there and I can tell you I was more than pretty pleased I was really, really, really pleased and proud of that battling performance those players in purple put in!

Speaking to iFOLLOW after the one-all draw Warney said, ‘I thought they were too much for us for the first twenty-five minutes but then we were really good and more than deserved our draw.

‘I don’t think we created enough opportunities though we should have had a couple of definite penalties in my opinion.

‘Before the Bolton game I told the lads that if they do score then we’ve just got to wipe ourselves down and get after them which I thought we did in the last two games. Yes, we could have crumbled but we’ve got good characters in there who want to win and stick together.’

It was great how we came back in the last two games from being one down. Like Warney says it’s a matter of pulling your socks up, not letting it prey on your mind and setting out to get a goal back then kick-on to try and get more goals.

We aren’t going to win every game, we aren’t going to get a point every game but although Millers fans might moan and groan and grumble if the team put in a shift then there will be praise from many.

Onto Saturday when Shrewsbury Town are at the New York Stadium.
