Millers Boss Has ‘Belief’ In Players

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne was left frustrated after, yet again, a late goal saw them get nothing at home against Birmingham City.

‘It was a game where we just didn’t take our chances’ the Millers Boss said speaking to Sky Sports after the lunchtime one-nil home loss.

How many times have we said that this season?

‘We just lack that killer touch in the box at times,’ the Gaffer carried on, ‘and goals win games which, unfortunately today, we didn’t get.

‘Every game, home or away, at this level is difficult for us and playing an in form Birmingham is a difficult game. We limited them to very few chances and, unfortunately for us, their bit of class at the end told.

‘It was a really tight game with both teams fighting for survival and I don’t think, had we won one-nil, Lee (Bowyer) would have had any complaints either.

‘The last two games have been one-nil defeats, one we did deserve but I thought today’s was hard on us. We now need the dressing room to stick together and have belief. I have belief in them but it’s them that walk onto the pitch.

‘If we take your chances we might have enough and while there’s a might you have something to fight for.’

I don’t know if it’s just me but I don’t think bringing on three subs at once does Rotherham any favours. It seems to take us a while to sort out what we are supposed to be doing and, I thought, today’s subs were very late in the game.

While there is ‘belief’, ‘hope’ and ‘might’ we are still in this – but are they running a bit thin?

Hard luck stories don’t get you points and the millers have been found wanting and basically not good enough to make a decent fight of avoiding a instant return to our level of league one , players will leave once this sorry season reaches the inevitable outcome , Paul warne as been the reluctant manager ,fitness coach to manager in one easy lesson ,and to be fair as given it is best shot but time for change is needed and it’s about time tony stewart removed is rose tinted spectacle s , and both he and warne parted company and for goodness sake no more attempts of championship football recent seasons suggest we are simply not good enough ,stop conning the supporters mr tony stewart it’s a fools paradise you live in with regards Rotherham united and championship stability

We seem to be that ‘inbetween team’ Stuart. Not good enough for the Championship but too good for League One meaning we are ecstatic one year and hugely disappointed the next.

I am a Birmingham City supporter.
Just wanted to say I thought Rotherham were the better side overall and at least deserved a point out of this game. Obviously I’m happy with the results it’s done wonders for us and if your team can play poorly but still get the win that’s a good sign. I just hope now that Rotherham can get a couple of wins with the games that they have left. Because I don’t see where Derby are getting a win from Rotherham get a couple of wins and Derby go down. That would make my day because I’m sick of Derby and we Deserve premier League premier League bull. So good luck Rotherham. KRO

warne might be right they didnt deserve to lose or win a poor game both teams find problems scoring.a waste of time subs as bad as those already on the field. they lose the ball to easy I cant see any escape from here and its back down we go new players and new manager needed for next season. c in l

The trouble is CinL where is the money coming to entice a new manager and/or players? If we stay where we are we would be struggling to go down and lose a big pot of the finances that we get in the Championship I doubt we could get ‘big’ players in because of their wage demands.

  • carlton in lindrick says:

I do agree with you most times caz. dont think they would have to break the bank to get a new manager plenty would apply for the job and they would be people who want to managers.not pushed into the job he didnt want . as for the players we have to many players on lone at the club and to many good players out on loneget them back for league 1 next season and players who dont want to stay let em lets start afresh c in l

Well I’ll just say that Kenny Jackett didn’t last that long did he? We have two local clubs who recently got rid of their managers and that hasn’t really worked out that well. I don’t like the concept of loan players, CinL, but they are now part of football and I think that is here to stay.

caz I think we are going to have to agree to disagtee I dont think warne is a manager and in the past we have had good young managers who have been quite good IM sure you no who i mean they dont have to cost the earth our chairman could do with investing some of is millions if he wantx a good teamfor the future’ one more moan i dont think loan players give a hundred percent to a team all this is just my opinion and i could be wrong C IN L
