Rotherham United have been drawn against Morecambe in the next round of the Carabao Cup which will be just the second time the teams have met in this competition.

The first time was in August 2016 in a game which saw nine goals. After the game ended three-all it went to extra time with the visitors to the New York Stadium winning five-four.

The Millers were knocked out at the first time of asking last season losing two-one to Accrington Stanley at the New York Stadium. Despite going one down away at Blackburn, Morecambe came back to win two-one going on to host Preston North End in the second round which saw the visitors win four-two.

Morecambe got through to this round after drawing nil-nil at home with Stoke City then winning the resulting penalty shoot-out. The Millers beat Port Vale at Vale Park two-one earlier this evening.

The game will take place the week commencing 22nd August.
