Rotherham United play their first home game of the campaign on Saturday when they welcome Millwall to the New York Stadium.

The Millers came away from Wycombe with all three points last weekend thanks to a late headed goal from Michael Ihiekwe while the Lions got a point from a goalless home game against Stoke City. Millwall also had a win in the Carabao Cup in mid-week beating League Two side Cheltenham Town at the Den.

Clark Robertson is struggling with a calf injury and is very doubtful for the game while Richard Wood, who missed out last weekend with what was thought to be a cracked rib, is back in training so could figure in the game. Curtis Tilt is still out although some good news is that he could start training next week. George Hirst, who signed this week, will probably in the match day squad and might even start.

Speaking about the coming game Millers Boss Paul Warne told iFOLLOW that he expects the game against Millwall to be a test for his side. Saying, because of having to play behind closed doors, he thought it would feel a bit like a pre-season game, the Gaffer said, ‘I’m sorry for the fans and it is sad but it will be the same for both teams. We are looking forward to the game and we will go into it giving it a right go. Millwall are a team I really like and have started well this season and I think they will end up in the top six at the end of the season.’

Gary Rowett will be without injured pair Troy Parrott and Billy Mitchell but  Mahlon Romeo is back in contention while  Connor Mahoney is pushing for a start after impressing against Cheltenham in mid-week.

Millwall’s Assistant Manager Adam Barrett told their Official Site that the club know what to expect from Rotherham. ‘They are a big physical side,’ he said, ‘and the year before last they gave us two difficult games. We know what’s coming and we have to make sure we deal with it. They had a good start with a win away at Brentford but we’ve had a good start too.’

The referee for this game is Leigh Doughty from Lancashire.

Millers fans are being asked to drop their flags off at the New York Stadium so they can be displayed inside the ground.

The club are also producing the match day programme The New Yorker
