Anthony McMullen is hoping to be the man to save Rotherham, who could quite possibly, maybe almost probably go out of business unless a takeover takes place shortly.

BBC Radio Sheffield is reporting that McMullen, an Irish property developer, is in talks to take over the Millers and hopes to have this takeover sorted early next week, if not before, but the Easter weekend could cause a delay.

McMullen has promised that outstanding wages will be paid to these as soon as he assumes control if the club, if he does: “I apologise for the delay, but I am giving my personal guarantee that it will be paid.

“Easter weekend means that this process may not be completed until next week.”

As part of the potential takeover McMullen, whose McMullen Group have properties all over the world, is proposing a new stadium to take the club into a new era, he added: “Rotherham has a great history and I want to continue to honour that. I and my team along with the local council and the current chairman are committed to bringing Rotherham forward.”
