Rotherham United central defender Jamie McCart has moved back to Scotland joining Premier League side Heart of Midlothian for an undisclosed fee and on a deal that keeps him at Tynecastle Park until 2029.
The twenty-seven year old left Scotland in the summer of 2022 signing a three year contract with the Millers. He played less than two hundred minutes of football for Rotherham that first season before moving out on loan to Leyton Orient in the January transfer window.
The following season he played in one Championship game and two League Cup games before signing another loan deal, this time with League One neighbours Barnsley who he made thirty appearances for.
He returned to the New York Stadium for his third season making twenty-one appearances and it’s thought, except for injury, would have been more, his last game being on Boxing Day in a one-nil home defeat to Wigan Athletic.
All at Vital Rotherham wish Jamie ‘all the best’ in his future away from the New York Stadium.
