Let’s Looks At Monday’s Stats – Milers v Blues

Rotherham United’s loss to Birmingham City yesterday all but seals their fate – yet there is still that little bit of hope something goes wrong somewhere else, we pick up maximum points from our next two games ….. yes, it’s called clutching at straws but there are some Millers fans still doing that.

I was very scathing of the stats after our loss on Friday at Swansea and I’m a little puzzled by the stats after the game with the Blues yesterday – did we really have more possession that Birmingham? The stats say ‘yes’ fifty-four per cent to the visitors forty-six per cent.

We had seven corners, one more than City with our passing accuracy in the opponents half being forty-five percent with Birmingham having fifty-three per cent and while we had more crosses City’s were half again as accurate as ours.

Rotherham had one shot on target (that would be the goal then!) out of nine shots while City had sixteen shots which half were said to be on target. Apparently we committed fourteen fouls to City’s thirteen – but I suppose it depends what we are calling fouls and what we are calling falling over.
