Rotherham United striker Joshua Kayode has re-joined Carlisle United on a season long loan.

The nineteen year old began his youth career with the Millers and the 2017/18 season saw him make two appearances in the Football League Trophy games off the subs bench.

The following season saw him have a short loan spell with Chesterfield and last season saw him play again for the Millers in the Trophy game against Doncaster before joining Gateshead on loan.

JJ came back from the North East and signed a two-and-a-half year extension to his contract, keeping him at the New York Stadium until 2022.

He joined League Two outfit Carlisle in January going on to feature in five games before the lockdown scoring three times.

The Millers have a clause in the year long loan contract meaning, if needed, he can be recalled in January.

While I think this is a good move for the striker going out and getting League football I do hope we don’t live to regret this with not having a big squad if injuries occur.

All at Vital Rotherham wish JJ a good season with the Cumbrians.
