Rotherham United forward Jerry Yates has gone out for a season-long loan to League Two side Swindon Town.

Coming through the Youth ranks with the Millers, Jerry is no stranger to loans having previously had spells with Harrogate Railway, Harrogate Town and, last season, Carlisle United.

The twenty-two-year-old scored on his full league debut against Norwich City in January 2017 and was recalled from Brunton Park early due to an injury crisis at the New York Stadium. Jerry scored seven goals for Carlisle in twenty-nine appearances last season and played seven games for the Millers.

Speaking to Swindon’s Official Site the forward said he was ‘buzzing’ when he heard Town were interested in him and feels it’s a move in the ‘right direction.’

All in all, Jerry has made fifty-one appearances, quite a few from the bench, in a Rotherham shirt and scored five times.

All at Vital Rotherham wish Jerry well in his loan spell.

Plenty of players on there way out of the club, nothing happening with incomings sounds familiar.

He is right, yes. I wonder if it’s anything to do with the later deadline? Though, I understand, there are ‘irons in the fire’ so to speak!
