Improvement Needed

|

Rotherham United lost their first home game of 2019 yesterday at the New York Stadium with Brentford taking all three points in a four-two win.

Before the game Millers Manager Paul Warne told us that he was a fan of the way Brentford play – to be honest for at least two of their goals I think our players had taken those words to heart and were stood back admiring their rivals.

Possession-wise the Bees had much more than the hosts – 65% to 35% (not really what you want to see for a home side is it) although our corner count of five was four more than Brentford’s.

Our long-passing and crossing accuracy was also superior to the visitors while they had fifteen shots on goal, seven of which were on target, to the Millers thirteen shots of which four were deemed to be on target.

Next week we entertain Leeds United – next week we need to start on the front foot – next week, I feel, we need to come away with a point – next week seems a long way away.
