How Do We Think The Millers Will Line Up Tomorrow?

In the Yorkshire derby where Leeds United are the visitors to the New York Stadium there are Millers fans amongst us who are wondering if it’s time for a change of formation/personnel on the pitch.

For much of the season Paul Warne has persisted with one up front – the one, mostly, being Michael Smith. We’ve won six league games at home – the last one being against Preston when we started with Smith on his own leading the line. Our other wins, all at home, we have actually, started with two up front – Swansea we reverted to one up front at half-time; Derby we started with Smith and Kyle Vassell and had two up front for seventy minutes; Millwall had Smith and Vassell leading the line until the last five minutes or so and in our win over Ipswich we played Smith and Vassell together.

Last weekend Smith was already on when Jerry Yates and Kyle Vassell were brought on from the bench – although, I think it’s fair to say, Yates wasn’t exactly playing a strikers role and Vassell only came on for the last five minutes.

As you know, as I think I’ve mentioned it once or twice (!), I’d always start, at home, with at least two up front – shows the opposition you are up for the game. Whether that will happen on Saturday I’m doubtful.

Will we see Billy Jones return from injury/illness in the right-back spot? And will Matt Crooks get his first start – I thought he looked OK when he came on last week. I’d also like to see Sean Raggett back in the starting line-up.

I can only presume we will stick with Jon Taylor and Anthony Forde on the wings as I don’t think we’ve any other wingers fit. Or perhaps we won’t have wingers at all.

Or, of course, it could be just the first eleven who are actually fit to play.

What about you – what would your starting eleven be?

How will the millers line up against Leeds! I have the perfect formation, the entire team on the millers goal line, even then Leeds will still score.

If Forde plays, I hope Warnie has given him a kick up the backside after the last game, he continually failed to track back and help out defending leaving the Vyner exposed. Vyner didn’t deserve the stick he got against Brentford, so don’t crucify the lad for poor performance by the man ahead of him.

It’s as good a formation as any, Stuart!
I agree Al H, the wingers were at fault, neither tracked back leaving our back two exposed.
