How Did We Do According To The Stats v QPR?

Rotherham United have scored four goals in their last two home games – unfortunately they’ve also let four goals in. But are we looking at that as two points gained or four points lost?

Our game against Queens Park Rangers last night was end-to-end, although probably not quite as exciting as Saturday’s derby against the Blades. We did play some nice football, we also made some silly mistakes and our defending left quite a bit to be desired.

We actually, according to the stats, had thirteen shots at goal last night – QPR had four more – while our shooting accuracy of fifty-four per cent was almost twenty per cent better than our higher placed visitors.

In his after match interview Millers Boss Warney did mention that the derby on Saturday might have taken more out of the players than he thought and I think he’s probably right, though I wouldn’t say the players looked a lot slower than the weekend but rather dithered on the ball a bit more.

A long haul to Carrow Road for this weekends game with Norwich City awaits them at the end of the week – let’s hope they’re rested and have their shooting boots on and defending heads on – I think they’re going to need both.
