Rotherham United and Wycombe Wanderers might have played out a goalless draw yesterday but for a five minute goal for the visitors to the New York Stadium, which looked suspiciously off-side to a lot of Millers fans.

The Millers had the majority of the possession percentages – fifty-eight to forty-two – but had not one shot on goal. The hosts did have ten shots in the game while the Chairboys had six of which three were on target.

Our tackles success rate came out at sixty-seven per cent while Wycombe had seventy-three per cent. Rotherham did better with passing accuracy coming out with fifty-nine per cent to the visitors’ forty-two per cent. In the oppositions half we had forty-six per cent accuracy to Wycombe’s thirty-five.

The Millers had ten corners (some of which actually got past the first defender) with Wycombe having six while Wycombe gave away sixteen fouls to Rotherham’s fourteen. There were seven yellow cards in the game of which Rotherham got four.

I felt at times yesterday we were running up against a brick wall. A player passed to a team mate who was surrounded by two or three blue shirts and I thought Wycombe played a much tighter game than us, always there to close us down. Some of our players looked lost and didn’t appear to know where they were supposed to be.

It wasn’t a good game – from either side to be honest – but it can only get better – I hope.  As we’ve said, including the Manager, too many players had an off day – why that was I don’t know.
