Hirst Here To Score Goals

Rotherham United’s latest loan signing George Hirst says that joining the Millers is a ‘big opportunity’ for him.

Speaking to iFOLLOW the twenty-one year old said that one of reason he had come to the New York Stadium was because of the interest Rotherham had shown in him over the last couple of years.

‘I wanted to come to a team that I was wanted by and not just to anywhere to make up the numbers,’ George said. ‘I’ve come here to score goals.

‘I think this is the next step for me to come and show what I can do at this level and I feel I can really help the club. It is going to be a big challenge to get a starting spot in the team but that is healthy for everybody.

‘I’m delighted to be here.’

And delighted that George has signed is First Team Coach Matt Hamshaw who says the forward will add quality to the group. ‘We’ve got someone in who played in the Premier League at the back end of last season who is a proven goal scorer who the fans will enjoying watching. He is everything we think a Rotherham United striker should be. He works hard, he’s strong and physical, his work around the box is really good and he’s a very good in the air.’

It’s possible that George could get his first game for Rotherham at home to Millwall on Saturday, whether from the start, off the bench or even at all we shall have to wait and see.
