Rotherham United will have a new face for their fans in the dugout tonight after Manager Matt Taylor brought in Jonathan Hill as his first team assistant coach.

Born in Wigan defender Jon came through the youth ranks at Crewe Alexander before he joined Rochdale in 1989. He was released a couple of years later and went into non-league football where injury cut his playing career short.

His coaching career took him to clubs like  Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers, Everton, Manchester United and Manchester City where he worked with the Youth set-up, and became assistant to Rene Meulensteen at Fulham before becoming Sporting Director at Hillsborough. Moving abroad Jonathan was technical director for the Jordanian FA and Head Coach at Tromso and TUIL FK in Norway.

In September he became first team coach with Exeter City alongside Matt Taylor.

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Jon to the New York Stadium.
