Rotherham United host Tranmere Rovers for what will be their second visit to the New York Stadium, the last one being in October 2013 in League One which ended one-one. A goal on the hour mark from Kieran Agard gave the hosts the lead but a penalty six minutes from time, given for a Pablo Mills push on former Millers loanee Abdulai Bell-Baggie, was put away by Ryan Lowe to equalise for the visitors.
The two last met at Millmoor in September 2006 when Lee Williamson opened the scoring for the Millers on eighteen minutes only for a certain Kevin Ellison to equalise ten minutes later. Seven minutes before half-time Will Hoskins put the Millers back in the lead with two-one being the final score.

The season before the game at Millmoor was a bit firey. Martin Butler and Paul Shaw put the Millers in front in the second half but six minutes from time a a violent confrontation between Michael Keane (Rotherham) and Mike Jackson (Tranmere) resulted in Referee Paul Robinson sending both for an early bath.
In the past there have been a few goals scored between the two sides – the biggest at Millmoor being in August 1948 when Wally Arden, Gladstone Guest and Jack Shaw got two goals each with a seventh being scored by Ron Thompson to give the Millers a seven-nil victory in front of fifteen and a half thousand fans.
The first time Rovers travelled to Millmoor was in January 1924 when Rotherham County, as they were then, won five-one with a hat-trick from John Hammerton and two goals from Fred Hodgson.
