Rotherham United travel to St Andrew’s for their next league game to take on Birmingham City.
The first meeting on Birmingham soil between the two was in the Old Division Two league in November 1919. The game ended two-all with the Millers goals coming from Cawley and Glenno.
The Millers last visited St Andrew’s in October 2016. Michael Morrison opened the scoring for the hosts on fifteen minutes with Danny Ward equalising sixteen minutes later. Further goals from Lukas Jutkiewicz and Jacques Maghoma gave City a three-one lead going into the half-time break. Jon Taylor made it three-two eleven minutes into the second half but an eighty-fourth minute penalty from David Cotterill made it four-two to the hosts on the night.
The last time the Millers won at St Andrews was in The Championship in September 2015, which was their first away win of the season. Goals from Matt Derbyshire in the first half and Anthony Andreu in the second half gave Rotherham a two-nil victory. It was also Steve Evans and Paul Raynor’s last game in charge of the club with them leaving three days later.
The first time the Millers got a win on Birmingham soil was in Division Two in January 1954. The game was a three-two victory for the visitors with Ron Burke, Jack Grainger and John Wilson getting their goals and Purdon scoring both goals for City.
