The first game of the 2020/21 season sees the Millers make their first visit to Adams Park since 2013 to take on fellow promoted side Wycombe Wanderers as the game last season was one of the fatalities of the coronavirus.
It was March 2013 that the pair last met at Wycombe in a League Two game which saw Joel Grant open the scoring for the hosts on seven minutes. Two second-half Daniel Nardiello goals put the visitors in front but in the final ten minutes Gary Doherty saved a point for the Chairboys making it two-all.
Before that the pair met at Adams Park in January 2011 when Gareth Ainsworth got the only goal of the game on twenty-eight minutes for the Chairboys. In the final minute of the game Jason Taylor was judged to have fouled Ben Strevens and got a second yellow card and an early bath.
The only time the Millers have beaten Wycombe on their home ground was on a Tuesday night in March 2001. With seven minutes to go up popped Alan Lee, who had come off the bench thirteen minutes before, to put the ball in the net and give the Millers all three points (although Adams Park was then called The Causeway Stadium).
