The last time Rotherham beat Swansea at their home was in April 2006 when an own goal on sixteen minutes from Garry Monk and a goal fifteen minutes later from Gregor Robertson gave the Millers all points from this Easter Monday game.

The first time the teams met on Swansea soil was in the Old Division Two in December 1951 at Vetch Field. The hosts won five-nil on the day.
The game at the New York Stadium earlier this season was a two-one win for the Millers in November. Oli McBurnie opened the scoring for the visitors on twenty-five minutes with the Millers equaliser coming from a Ryan Manning spot-kick on seventy-nine minutes after goalie Kristoffer Nordfeldt brought down Jamie Proctor. Less than ten minutes later Fer handled in the box and up stepped Manning to score his second penalty of the day to give the hosts all three points.
