Rotherham United head North for the next game on their travels when they take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The last time the Millers were at the Stadium Of Light was in the Championship in February 2005 and one that Rotherham’s goalkeeping coach, Mike Pollitt, will probably want to forget. Dean Whitehead and Sean Thornton gave the hosts a two-nil lead going into half-time with Gary Breen making it three-nil four minutes into the second half. Thornton made it four in the last fifteen minutes with Andy Monkhouse getting a consolation goal to make it four-one to the Black Cats.
The first time the pair met at the Stadium of Light was in October 2003 in Division One with the game ending goalless.
The only other points the Millers have got on Sunderland soil was at Roker Park, both of which were one-one draws. April 1959, which was the first time the two had met at Roker Park, saw Alan Kirkman get the Rotherham goal with George Darwin getting the visitors goal in October 1960, both times in Division Two.
