Rotherham United welcome Stockport County to the New York Stadium for the last game of 2024.
The pair actually last met here in an FA Cup game in December 2021 which the Millers won one-nil but the last league game was almost nineteen years ago when Rotherham were camped out at the Don Valley Stadium. An own goal from Aaron Brown gave the Millers a twelve minute lead with two further goals from Ryan Taylor and one from Adam Le Fondre seeing the hosts win four-nil.
Before that County had travelled to Millmoor in February 2008 when Tommy Rowe gave them an eighth minute lead. Mark Hudson equalised for the Millers but Rowe put Stockport back in the lead early in the second-half before Anthony Pilkington made it three-one with Rowe getting his hat-trick just after the hour mark giving the visitors a four-one win.
Rotherham last beat Stockport at Millmoor in a Division One game in February 2002 when Chris Sedgwick put them in front on thirty-three minutes. John Hardiker equalised on seventy-seven minutes but a Mark Robins penalty gave the hosts back the lead. Three minutes later Damien Delaney got a second equaliser for the visitors before a late goal from Robins saw the Millers get all three points.
