Rotherham United travel to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday to take on Oxford.

The Millers were last there in League One in January 2020 where two goals from Kyle Vassell and one from Richard Wood gave the Millers a three-nil lead at half-time with Marcus Browne getting a consolation goal for the hosts in the second half.

Before that the teams met at the Kassam Stadium in October 2017 in a game that saw six goals. Joe Newell put the Millers in front on twenty minutes but a minute later Jack Payne equalised. Josh Ruffles then gave the hosts the lead with Curtis Nelson making it three but a Ryan Williams goal just before the break made it three-two. The Millers got a point from the game with a Kieffer Moore goal twelve minutes from time.

A Tuesday night in March 2013 saw the Millers and U’s meet at the Kassam when the Millers were four-nil winners, all goals coming in the first half. David Noble, Kari Arnason, John Mullin and Ben Pringle scored in a fourteen minutes spree.

The first time the two met at the Kassam was in February 2011 which ended in a two-one win for the home side, Simon Heslop opening the scoring for the U’s on eighteen minutes with Nicky Law equalising for the Millers eighteen minutes later. Just after the hour mark disaster struck for the visitors when Steve MacLean went by Callum Kennedy in the box and the youngster, who was on loan from Swindon Town, tugged the sleeve of MacLean and he went down. Referee Simon Hooper pointed to the spot and showed a red card to Kennedy. MacLean scored the winner from the penalty spot.

It was the same result the following season with Scott Rendell and Asa Hall scoring either side of half-time with a consolation goal for the Millers scored seven minutes from the end of the game after Jason Taylor was hacked down in the penalty area and Lewis Grabban scored the spot-kick.

One of the most exciting games between the U’s and the Millers was at the Manor Ground in March 2001. Rob Quinn scored on six minutes for the home side with Mark Robins making it one-all eighteen minutes later. Three minutes later Manny Omoyinmi put the U’s back in the lead and fifteen minutes into the second half Omoyinmi made it three-one. Guy Branston made it three-two just after the hour mark but a certain Andy Scott gave the home side the two-goal advantage again. Alan Lee made the last ten minutes interesting by making it four-three but the U’s held on and got the win.
