Rotherham United travel to Suffolk to take on Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Tuesday night.

October 2019 was the last time the Millers were at Ipswich when Matt Crooks scored in both halves to give the visitors a two-nil win.

A goal just after the half-hour mark from Will Keane gave Ipswich the win in January 2019 while the game the two met in at Portman Road before that in October 2016 saw four goals. Freddie Sears gave the hosts the lead on three minutes but a Danny Ward goal four minutes later and another just after half-time gave Rotherham the advantage until five minutes into time added on saw a cracking strike from David McGoldrick get a point for Ipswich.

March 2016 saw Leon Best score his first Millers goal a minute before half-time giving the Millers a one-nil win at Portman Road. Yellow cards on the day were for Greg Halford of the Millers and Jonas Knudsen of Ipswich.

The season before that game at Portman Road saw two goals in the opening six minutes win the game for the hosts. Daryl Murphy scored in three minutes and three minutes later David McGoldrick made it two-nil. Kari Arnason and Lee Frecklington saw yellow that afternoon.

Before that the Millers were the visitors at Ipswich in April 2005 when Ian Westlake and Darren Bent put the hosts two up in the opening twenty-five minutes. Tony Thorpe made it two-one a minute later but in the second half Jim Magilton and Bent gave Ipswich their two goal advantage back. On the sixty-seventh minute Jamal Campbell-Ryce put in a sweet ball for Martin Butler to score and twelve minutes later a free-kick from Martin McIntosh made it interesting when it was deflected past Kelvin Davis in the home goal to make it four-three but, as much as they tried, the Millers couldn’t score another to get anything from the game. Unfortunately this saw the Millers become the first team relegated that season from the Championship with Ipswich moving into second place.

In October 1964 a Division Two game between the sides at Ipswich ended four-four with the Millers goals being scored by Brian Tiler (2), Albert Bennett and Barry Lyons. At the end of the game Rotherham were third in the table with Ipswich next to bottom.
