Hamshaw ‘Pleasing Night For The Club’

|

Rotherham United’s First Team Coach Matt Hamshaw the first half of yesterday’s Papa John Trophy game was difficult.

Speaking to IFollow after the five-nil win over a Manchester City U21 side, Hammy said, ‘They (Man City) moved the ball really well and they are technically good and some of these players will go on to represent their countries and have outstanding careers. But we were really pleased with our second half and it was a clean sheet which we want.

‘And it ticked a lot of boxes with players getting minutes. I thought some of our young players found it hard first half but the longer the game went on they looked a lot better. We’re really pleased with them.

‘It’s a really pleasing night for the club.’

Good for the club and the fans.  Great to see a home hat-trick, they have been very few and far between of late.  Good to see some of the youngsters get time on the pitch and learn off the more established players.  A win, a clean sheet, what isn’t to like.
