Defender, Gregor Robertson, yesterday praised the management methods of Alan Knill. He told the Rotherham Advertiser that he was impressed with the way his manager had gone about his business.

‘He has got us playing the way he wants us to play and gradually made his own imprint on the team. He wants us to play football. The gaffer is a good man manager and he pulls people aside and tells them what he thinks they need to work on. He`s honest and tells it how it is.`

Robertson, a Scottish Under 21 international, was a junior with Heart of Midlothian and then went onto play 31 times in league and cup competitions for Nottingham Forest before joining the Millers in 2005.

He has just regained his place in the team after being out with a knee injury for seven weeks.

‘The knee took a long time to get better and I was out longer than expected,` he admitted.
