Rotherham United midfielder Ollie Rathbone has joined League One rivals Wrexham, for an undisclosed fee, after the club ‘reluctantly’ agreed to let him go – subject to EFL and FA ratification and international clearance.
Ollie joined the Millers from Rochdale in August 2021 making his debut three days later coming off the bench at home to Plymouth. His first goal was in a one-all draw at the New York Stadium against Crewe Alexandra the following month.
All in all Ollie made one hundred and thirty-eight appearances in a Rotherham shirt in League One, the Championship and Cups – including a trip to Wembley in the Papa John’s Trophy Final in April 2022 which saw the Millers win the game – scoring eight goals along the way.
He soon became a fans favourite with his ‘no nonsense taking no prisoners’ attitude on the pitch and his willingness to always talk to the fans off the pitch. Sad to see you go, Ollie.
All at Vital Rotherham send our Best Wishes to Ollie for his future away from the Millers.
