Former Players Linked With Millers

|

Rotherham United have been linked with fetching Kieffer Moore back to the New York Stadium.

The twenty-five year old came on loan to the Millers in August from Ipswich, scoring a hat-trick on his first league start in August. Despite being recalled by Mick McCarthy for the Tractor Boys in January, Kieffer was still Rotherham’s top scorer with thirteen goals. Although Millers Manager Paul Warne tried to hang on to the tall striker he (or his agent) opted for South Yorkshire neighbours Barnsley in the Championship, signing a deal that keeps him at Oakwell until 2021.

Not only are JL Sports saying we are interested in bringing Moore back they also have us linked with another former player Danny Ward.

Danny was with the Millers from January 2015 until the summer of 2017 when he joined Cardiff City with it being reported that Rotherham want to sign him on a six month loan deal.

Personally I’d be surprised if either came back to Rotherham. I really don’t think we are short of strikers.

Michael Smith has more than cemented himself in the first team and although perhaps isn’t the prolific goalscorer that Moore was for me he’s much the better footballer.

David Ball’s scored nine goals which, to be honest, is five more than Ward scored in his last season with the Millers, albeit in a higher division.

We might not have seen much of Jamie Proctor but he will be back next season after injury curtailed his game time to just a handful of games this last season.

And there’s Jerry Yates who came through the Millers youth set-up.

If  we are thinking of fetching in another striker I’d rather it be Caolan Lavery who was with us from the end of January on loan from Sheffield United. He knows what the Millers are about, he knows how we play and what we want.

I really can’t see us fetching in Moore or Ward. Can you?

Have to laugh at your poor attempt to poach Moore from League one Barnsley but fact is he is destined for the premier division and if not football will be on trial for holding back one of the world’s best footballers.

I don’t think we are poaching Moore, theo justice, more like his agent is linking his name with teams in the Championship.

Destined for premier? You crank. He’s good, but definitely Champ at best.

Kieffer Moore has proven beyond a doubt he is one of the world’s best players. So good referees have to fix matches against him. This is easily proven as it is that these clubs he has joined have employed dubious managers and media staff.
