Ferguson Signs In

Rotherham United have brought in defender Shane Ferguson who was released by Millwall at the end of last season.

The Northern Ireland international came through the youth set-up with Newcastle United signing a three year contract with the Magpies in 2009. He played thirty-three games for Newcastle in the Premier League and various cup competitions including the Europa League. While at St James’s Park he went out on loan to Birmingham City, Rangers and Millwall where he impressed enough for them to give him a contract in January 2016. Now thirty, Shane went on to play over two hundred times for the Lions including at Wembley in the 2017 League One Play-Off Final where he got a winners medal. Sixteen of those appearances were last season and he has caps for Northern Ireland at U17, U19, U21, the ‘B’ team plus around fifty appearances for the first team.

Shane has signed a two year deal for the Millers – subject to EFL and FA ratification.
