Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne has spoken to former player Will Vaulks but not about a return to the New York Stadium.

A fans favourite at the New York Stadium Will joined the Millers from Scottish side Falkirk in 2016 for an undisclosed fee going on to make more than one hundred and thirty appearances for the Millers, which includes a Wembley win in the League One Play-Off Final in 2018, before he joined Cardiff City in June 2019 which was thought to be a record sale for Rotherham, although a fee has never been disclosed.

Now his contract with the Bluebirds has come to an end will we see him grace the pitch in a red and white Rotherham shirt again?

Admitting he’d spoke to the twenty-eight year old midfielder on the way home from Gillingham, the Millers Boss told the Yorkshire Post , ‘I love Will, so if I could get anywhere near his wage demands that would be a player I like. However, I do not expect Will to sign this summer.

‘If I could get a Will Vaulks or a Semi Ajayi back obviously I would, but there are limitations on what we can do.’

Since Will moved to Wales he and Warney have kept in touch as I imagine he has with a lot of his former players.

Would the fans want Will Vaulks back? I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t. Will it happen? The jury is very much out on that one at the moment but the verdict is probably ‘doubtful’.
