Rotherham United striker, Delroy Facey, was a slow starter when he came to Millmoor from Tranmere last summer but the fans have seen a much improved player over the last few weeks.

He has scored thirteen goals this season, seven in the games since Mark Robins took over as manager, and is happy with the improvement in his game.

‘I think I’ve been getting in the box more and working the wings too. It’s a pity I can’t get on the end of my own crosses! I think I will have to work on my fitness so I can get to them …’

He is quick to give praise to the influence Mark Robins has had on him

‘The manager was a striker,’ Facey told The Advertiser, ‘and because of this he’s well up with forward play. I can learn a lot from him. I have an understanding relationship with him.

‘Over the years, I’ve noticed that if you have an ex striker as a manager he tends to work more on the attacking side of the game. Mark has been there and done it at a high level; he scored goals for fun. If I can take on board just a percentage of what he’s done then I can only get better.’
