FA Cup Stats – Millers v Stockport

Rotherham United are through to Round Three of the FA Cup but Stockport County gave them a run for their money.

The Millers won thanks to a forty-third goal from top scorer Michael Smith but what do the few stats we have from the match tell us?

Although for most of the game Rotherham’s possession was higher the end of the game shows that National League County ended with fifty-one per cent which was probably because they were pushing for an equaliser.

Hosts Rotherham had five shots on target from ten while the visitors had five shots at goal of which three were on target – both ‘keepers made saves.

Stockport had nine corners which was three more than Rotherham while the Millers gave away eighteen fouls to County’s eleven and of the seven yellow cards shown four of those went to the men in red.

But it is Rotherham United and their fans who will be sat glued to the next round draw on Monday night.
