FA Cup Preview – Millers v Moors

|

Rotherham United travel to the SportNation.bet stadium (Damson Park) this evening where they take on Solihull Moors in the second round of the FA Cup.

Solihull Motors go into this game full of confidence being second in the National League and having won their last game four-one away at Stockport County with their last home game being a three-one win over Fylde FC in mid- November.

The Moors got through to this round of the FA Cup by beating Barrow away in the Qualifying Fourth Round and Oxford City away, five-one, in the First Round proper of the competition.

Moors’ Boss Tim Flowers told Birmingham Live , ‘Rotherham are in good form, in the middle of a good run. I imagine it will be a good game, it’s on the telly and it’s a good opportunity for our lads to show what they can do. We will be as organised as we possibly can and go out and give it a real good go.’

Rotherham United are fourth in League One despite a rare away loss on Tuesday night at Portsmouth by three goals to two after winning two other away League games last month at Gillingham and MK Dons.

Paul Warne’s team got through to this second round of the FA Cup by beating Maidenhead United away in the first round, coming back from one down to win three-one.

‘These are second in the Conference,’ Millers Boss Paul Warne told iFOLLOW, ‘in mid-week they had ten ex-pro’s in their starting eleven and have conceded the least amount of goals, won the most home games and are a club on the up-and-up. It’s going to be a really tough game and we are going to have to stand up and hopefully put on a performance to get us through.

The Millers will go into this game a bit short at the back after Billy Jones hobbled off on Tuesday night to join Richard Wood and Joe Mattock in the treatment room. There is also a doubt over Clark Robertson who, along with Matt Crooks, has been to see a specialist this week.

Carl Boyeson from East Yorkshire has the whistle for this game.

The Millers or Moors will already know who they face in the next round of the competition as the draw will be made before the game begins tomorrow evening. Ball number to look out for is 55.
