Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans was disappointed after the Millers one-all draw away at Shrewsbury this afternoon.

Speaking to the Official Site the Millers Boss said, ‘I thought we were dominant in the game when we go one-nil down which has happened to us a couple of times this season already. Then we didn’t get any momentum and it probably looked a poor game if you were here as a neutral.

‘At half-time we identified where we could change our game and the second half it was just one way traffic. We showed good character in the second half and I praise the players for that. Their crowd usually get behind their team but they were quiet today in large spells.

‘It was a clear penalty. I’ve just seen it back and it was such a dangerous challenge I question why he was still on the pitch. We score the penalty and then we have a lot of play around their box, a lot of balls into their box.

‘But we’ve drawn a game we should have won which we’ve said two or three times this season. We’re disappointed to go away with a point but we’ll take it and try and build on it at Cambridge on Tuesday.’

The Millers had a goal chalked off for offside before the Shrews took the lead with the Gaffer saying he hadn’t seen it back but ‘hopes the assistant got it right’ going on to say, ‘it was a brilliant ball in and a fantastic header from Jamie (McCart) and he won the penalty too.  Joe Hungbo, who is a really good player who we’ve finally got fit, and Jack Holmes were good when they came on and gave us a different dimension.

‘We had some good play into the final third, three or four free-kicks which Joe (Powell) put behind which isn’t what he’s about and he’s put his hands up when he came into the dressing room. He knows he’s better than that.

‘It was brilliant support today. I think nearly nine hundred Millers fans when we don’t deserve sixty at the minute in terms of results away from home. And forget the result you could see what they thought of the performance which we dominated.’

And those missing today? Sean Raggett failed a late fitness test and Liam Kelly wasn’t ‘quite right’ yesterday. Hakeem Odoffin pulled a hamstring yesterday in training.
