Rotherham United’s first foray in the the Carabao Cup this season sees Robert Madden from East Kilbride in charge of our game away at Port Vale.

Bobby has been officiating in his native Scotland since 2010 but for work reason relocated to England and joined the National Group of Referees this summer and will take charge of games in the EFL. He also ended his twelve years as a FIFA referee earlier this year saying he wanted to concentrate on domestic football.

His first game this season saw him book four players and show Doncaster’s Lee Tomlin a red card in Rovers goalless away draw at Bradford. He was also in charge of the goalless draw at Hartlepool at the weekend where he showed three yellow cards to the hosts against AFC Wimbledon.

Last season he was in the middle for forty games which included the Scottish Leagues and Cups, the Europa League, World Cup, Nations League and the Greek League and caused much controversy in his display in the Scottish Cup semi-final between Rangers and Celtic.

Running the line at Vale Park will be Billy Smallwood and Blake Antrobus while Kevin Morris is the Fourth Official.
