Rotherham United are ‘leaving the door open’ for recent trialist Zak Dearnley after the twenty year old forward suffered a quad injury.

Born in Sheffield Zak came through the Youth ranks with Manchester United and trained with the first team squad at Old Trafford last season. January this year saw Zak join Oldham Athletic on loan making nine appearances and coming off the bench to score in his first game away at Crawley.

Zak has been on trial with the Millers and Rotherham Boss Paul Warne was going to watch him in an in-house game this week but the night before Zak got his injury. Warney told the Rotherham Advertiser that once Zak is fit again he wants him to return to the New York Stadium for another trial.

Meanwhile it is thought that the Millers are on the brink of fetching in a tenth player which will be a winger while the Gaffer is also looking to fetch in a centre-half to add to the squad.
