Rotherham United goalkeeper Dillon Phillips echoed his Manager saying that he was ‘disappointed’ not to take all three points at Huddersfield on Saturday.

Dillon joined the Millers in the summer of 2023 and was much the number two behind Viktor Johansson last season playing in just four games. This season he has been sharing the number one spot with Cameron Dawson being the preferred choice over the Christmas period and having made seventeen appearances so far.

Speaking to the Official Site after the goalless draw at the John Smith’s Stadium at the weekend, the twenty-nine year old said, ‘They (Huddersfield) are a good side and not many people take points from here. But I’m a little bit disappointed because maybe we had the better of the chances.

‘The last two weeks have been an improvement from what we’ve been like so far this season and credit to the lads for putting a shift in after the three day turnaround. Maybe we had a little bit of help when they went down to ten men taking a little bit of pressure off. But we still had to dig in.

‘As a goalie it’s nice when there is consistency in the team selection and everyone that came on the pitch did brilliantly. And back-to-back clean sheets isn’t like me is it? It’s good to be able to keep a clean sheet and feel like I’m performing OK. Let’s hope we can keep on and have a positive second half of the season.’
