Dilemma For Warne?

|

I think Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne will have a bit of a dilemma when he’s thinking of who to play against Everton in Wednesday evenings Carabao Cup game.

He’s always said that he’d rotate the squad and he did make a number of changes for the first round against Wigan Athletic.

But this is Everton of the Premier League – though I don’t think we will be fooled that they will be playing their ‘big’ names (although, saying that this might be a good chance for them to win something this season so they might just do that – but I really can’t see it). And with them being in the top league of English football everyone involved with the Millers will want to play.

So, who will Warney pick?

I imagine he will put Lewis Price back between the sticks, but, then again, Marek Rodak will probably want to play. Semi Ajayi was captain for the game at home against Wigan but with us going to the DW Stadium on Saturday will he want to risk one of our most influential players of the season so far?

Sean Raggett had a good game, and scored a good header, on Sunday against Millwall so will he stay in the side or will we be saving him for the weekend too? I would think that Ben Wiles will get another run out – I like this lad and think he’s played well when we’ve seen him. And perhaps David Ball and Jamie Proctor will start up front? Maybe Clark Robertson will come in for Joe Mattock and with Billy Jones having Premier League experience perhaps he’ll make an appearance although if he’s not fully fit I can’t see him being risked.

Ryan Williams was another who impressed on Sunday but do we need to keep him fresh for the Wigan game or risk playing him?

It’s all ifs and buts at the moment but I’m quite sure Warney is pleased to have it this way and not scratching his head trying to get a team together.

Who would you start against Everton?
