Cup Stats v Shrewsbury Town

Rotherham United got a great cup victory last night away against Shrewsbury Town with the stats all being in the Millers’ favour.

Not surprisingly winning four-nil the visitors had sixty-one per cent of the possession, won more of the aerial duels and had more corners but also our passing accuracy was better – and I feel that is something we have to take forward into the league – surprisingly though, the crossing accuracy percentage when to the Shrews.

Of our sixteen shots at goal six were on target – four goals – while Shrewsbury’s six shots at goal just bothered Lewis Price twice, (in fact our ‘keeper had rather a quiet night). And looking at the stats it seems that the hosts were better in defence than the Millers, though that’s possibly because they spent more time there during the game.

All-in-all it wasn’t a bad night was it – more of the same on Saturday please.
