Chieo Happy To Be Back Training

|

While the Premier League and Championship players are now back finishing the season some of the Rotherham United players returned to training today with winger Chieo Ogbene saying he is ‘happy to be back’.

Speaking to iFOLLOW the twenty-three year old said that training had been light and more about getting the ‘cobwebs’ off.

Chieo has been back home during lockdown and says his brothers have been helping him train while he has been concentrating on his weaknesses and said, ”Although we are all doing individual training it’s nice to catch-up and be back with each other again.’

Missing a ‘Paul Warne’ pre-season last year he expects this pre-season to be beneficial to him but tough and expects the team to do well next season in the Championship saying his ‘hopes are high’ citing the Millers FA Cup game against Hull City as a benchmark where he said, ‘with ten men this team showed what we could do and showed me what we could do in this league’. The Millers lost to a hat-trick goal from former player Tom Eaves in time added on.

‘I’m grateful to be going back to the Championship with a great club,’ Chieo carried on thanking all the staff and his team mates saying, ‘I couldn’t have done this without them.’

Chieo signed from Brentford towards the end of the summer transfer window going on to make twenty-nine appearances with his only goal coming in January in our three-nil home win over Bristol Rovers and soon became a fans’ favourite.

I hope – and believe – there is much more to come from this young man and can’t wait to see him beating the opposition on long runs next season.

Stay Safe.

Up The Millers.
