Rotherham United will be in a ‘good place’ when they start next season in the Championship says Millers Chairman Tony Stewart.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Post Mr Stewart says that the lack of crowds could help the Millers when they go to away games.

This will be the fifth time the club have been in the second tier of English football since Mr Stewart took over and he said, ‘We know a bit about the Championship and clubs aren’t going to have 30,000 in the stand which will be an advantage to us’.

And he’s right isn’t he. Should the Millers go in front on their travels it’s quite probable that the home side aren’t going to have their fans in the stands to lift them. Of course, the same can be said for when Rotherham play at the New York Stadium although, let’s be honest, we don’t get the crowds like Derby County and Stoke City.

Mr Stewart also said that the Millers are ‘better equipped’ for the Championship this time around and thinks more players will want to come to the New York Stadium now we are in a higher league but also emphasised that he wants to make sure ‘we can have some fun’.

I think it’s good to hear a Chairman saying he wants his workforce to have fun because I believe if you enjoy going to work and being at work you will get the rewards.

I hope I’m right.

Keep Safe.

Up The Millers.
