Rotherham United got through to the second round of the Carabao Cup last night – but not before a scare when Crewe Alexandra took the lead.
But what do the stats tell us?
The first thing they say is that we really should have scored many more with twenty-seven shots of which ten were on target and two in the net. Our visitors had four on target from seven shots, scoring one.
Possession was fairly even with the Millers having fifty-two per cent o Crewe’s forty-eight and of the sixteen corners eleven went the home sides way while our ‘keeper made three saves to the visitors’ eight.
Crewe won twenty-six of the ariel duels, the Millers eleven more and of the twenty-six fouls, Rotherham committed seventeen with both sides getting a yellow card each.
Surprised how many fouls there were in what wasn’t a ‘dirty’ game to me with Sean Raggett having to be careful after being booked in the first minute of the game.
